In 1987, Elizabeth Speiker with her husband, James Speiker, Sr., started Speiker & Company, Ltd. Since its inception, the business has grown from a one-office insurance agency to a prominent landmark in Downtown Prior Lake.

Elizabeth is now retired allowing her more free time to travel and spend more time with her grandchildren.

Maria joined Speiker & Company, Ltd. in 2002. She has a degree in Management from Hamline University and is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the MN Society of Enrolled Agents (MNSEA).

Maria is a member of the Prior Lake VFW Auxiliary and a Youth Mentor through her membership with the Prior Lake Optimist Club. Maria, with her husband and three kids, live in Prior Lake and her favorite summer activity is Beach Parties hosted by City of Prior Lake.

James joined Speiker & Company, Ltd. in 2007. He has a degree from Brown College.

James is a Board Member of the Prior Lake Savage Optimist Club and received their Key Member Award in 2012. James is also the Gambling Manager for Optimist Club. When not busy with work or Optimist Club, James enjoys spending time with his family or running in a charity 5K.

Sara has worked at Speiker & Company since 2014. Sara has a Master of Business Administration degree from University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Minnesota…. go Gophers! Sara is also a member of the United States Army Reserve, lifetime member of the Prior Lake VFW, and active with the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador.

In her free time, Sara loves going for a run or spending time with her daughters and husband at their home in Savage.

Betsy Speiker, MA
Shareholder

Betsy joined Speiker & Company, Ltd. in 2004 and worked until 2013 when she took a leave of absence to pursue her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Adler University in Chicago. Upon graduation, she relocated to Texas and works at a practice that incorporates her love of yoga, meditation and healing.

When not enjoying the Texas heat, Betsy enjoys traveling and spending time with Rocky, her rescue dog. She is as active in the business as her schedule allows.

When not at work, Lisa enjoys photography, and many outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking with her family.
